Language learning is full of things you can study. But knowing something and actually being able to use it are different things.

Most Korean study material is built to be recognized: flashcards you can identify, grammar points you can pick out on a test, dialogues you can follow along with. While that's a real skill, it's not the same skill as opening your mouth and producing Korean, live, with no time to think.

We've all had that moment when you open your mouth to actually speak, and everything you studied just... disappears. Not because you didn't know it. Because knowing and producing are two different skills, and almost nothing out there trains the second one.

Laithera is built around that gap specifically. Every resource here, starting with a 30-day speaking challenge, is designed to get you producing the language, beyond just recognizing it.

Korean is where Laithera starts. The approach isn't Korean-specific, and it won't stay Korean-only forever.

Who's behind this

Laithera is built by one person, a Korean learner just like you, not a linguist or a language institution, who got tired of feeling fluent on paper and frozen in conversation. This isn't a company with a team behind it yet. It's one person building the thing they wished existed, and testing it on themselves first.

What I believe

• Speaking is a skill you build by speaking, not by studying more.
• Discomfort under time pressure is the point, not a sign you're doing it wrong.
• Small, consistent output beats occasional, perfect output.
• Materials should be built by people still learning the language, not just teaching it.
